I started writing seriously in 2019. It quickly became a form of therapy for me. Okay, an addiction may be a more accurate diagnosis. I never really knew that storytelling was a love of mine. I enjoyed writing in high school because of a fabulous Creative Writing class teacher. Mrs. Warren. But I was the quiet kid who never really applied myself like I should have in much other than partying with friends.
I’m older and hopefully wiser these days. I enjoy my family, riding my Harley through the twisty and hilly backroads of the Ozark Mountains in Southwest Missouri. I live with my wife, our son, and three very spoiled pit bull mixes.
I live a pretty simple life. I still have a daytime job working four ten-hour days so I have my weekends for chores and writing. I have an understanding wife that knows I need to empty my head onto my laptop in the form of stories that she doesn’t understand or particularly even enjoy. I’ll admit, I let a lot of life slip by while I’m living inside worlds I create inside my head filled with colorful characters who tend to dwell on the harsher or sadder side of life. I love psychological stories. It could be because my mother was a pyche nurse so I likely come by it naturally. She loved to write poetry and her mother wrote a very large two volume memoir. My sister is a part time writer like me. She wrote a suspense novel, Black Willow, so maybe the love of writing truly runs in our blood.
Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed strolling through my site and
hopefully you will find something I’ve written or am working on that
draws your attention enough to give me a try. I enjoy writing in
every genre and always love the challenge of trying something new.
I’ll give a plug to my favorite place to write. I found it because my
wife sings in an acoustic trio called Act 3 and they played at this awesome little local coffee shop, The Black Lab Coffee Company. I found it to be my most prolific place to write. I’ve been a regular now for around 3 years and can usually be found in the corner focused on typing away in the corner. I’m always good for some conversation if you ever spot me! Thank you again, for giving me a piece of your time and attention.
